Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide children with an immersive experience at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum that gives them the opportunity to learn about aspects of what goes into the performance of an IndyCar and the careers behind doing so.

Why did you join EPICS? 


Name: Benjamin Spotts

Role: Financial Officer and Pit Stop Project Partner Liaison

Major: FYE to Mechanical Engineering

Hobbies: Drag Racing, working out, volunteerism

Why did you join EPICS? I wanted a real-world engineering experience, to form connections with fellow engineers, and to serve the local community.


Name: Matthew Hackett

Role: Pit Stop Project Archivist

Hobbies: Lifeguarding, scuba diving, hiking/camping, guitar

Why did you join EPICS? I joined EPICS because I thought it would be a nice way to meet people especially since this is my first year of college, as well getting to experience what is like working on an actual project which is something I would do in the industry.

Why did you join EPICS? I joined EPICS to get experience working on engineering projects within a team.  Specifically Speedway, I wanted a project that focused on educating children and I am interested in the automotive industry, so the project is a great fit.
